I agree 100%, I've actually left friendships for this reason. Never romantic relationships as I have never even dated a person like that. If someone dislikes a cat, any animal for that matter I don't spend my time with them for that reason. The amount of disgusting stories I have heard from my dad who suffered the loss of many of his cats in the most brutal ways -

People were very cruel to cats many years ago.. the stories I have heard from kids at school when I was still there about the boys who hunted animals. They described to me their hate for cats, birds, etc. They hunted them for sport, not because they had to. It sickened me, I will admit that I hoped the worst for them.. Anyone who hates or harms animals isn't a very nice person and is someone you shouldn't spend your time with. The negativity from that relationship isn't the best environment for anyone.
