Think again! If you list your location in a country different from where you actually live, you run the risk of being permanently suspended on Etsy.

For Print on Demand sellers, you can list where your items ship from (your print provider will list this information), but your actual business location must direct back to your personal country of origin.

When setting up an Etsy account, it asks for three pieces of information:

1. Where your shop is based.
2. Where your bank is based.
3. Your residential address.


It's worth noting that Etsy allows you to have your shop in one country, your bank in another, and your residential address in yet another country. However, there's also a fourth factor to consider, which is your IP address. The question is, are you allowed to work from a country that doesn't match your registered address?

It sucks that Brazil, a big country, and it does not have support for Etsy payments... I only have available paypal as payment method for my digital products... and I lost many sales because of this.

I am located in Europe and selling in the US and I put as shop location US but the home address is the one from where I live I contacted Etsy support and Printify as well and told me that is alright. Do you think it is alright as I keep see this videos when they say the shop may get banned .

Can someone please make a video on how to watch out for ETSY scammers? My ETSY mailbox is plagued with messages saying mu account is temporarily suspended, but I know for sure it isn't/ I think those type of videos should be equally valuable to watch. I was scammed once, but never again from these SOBs!

So this is super confusing. Keep checking Etsy policy and terms and conditions back and forth and this is my question.

Under NO circumstances Etsy says you cannot set your Public Profile to US if you live somewhere else, as long as your bank information and residential address is genuine and correct.

For example: Public Profile -> United States because you are selling products manufactured in US and shipped from US to US buyers.
Legal Tax Information, Legal Address and Bank Account -> based in UK with legal goverment ID.

The I say in the annoucement that most my products are made and ship from US, with few exceptions which are made and shopped from EU.

Is this okay? The terms and conditions, the handbook, nothing stating anything about this public profile store location.

Hi Starla. I'm an American living in Australia. I have a bank account in both countries. Though I reside in Australia, I would like to operate in USD and connect my shop to my US bank account (selling POD & digital products only). I've got my mom's house that's my US home base- it's a real residence that I'm associated with for tax purposes. Would this be ok? Doing the USD/AUD back & forth conversions between Printify & Etsy is doing my head in! Thanks!
