After a year of getting acrylics at the salon, I bought the gellike gel nail tip kit, a £20 melody susie nail drill, a uv/led lamp and a bunch of beetles polishes to do my own nails at home. I got some other stuff too like gel liner brushes and chrome powders etc. all in all I spent around £200 total but considering I was averaging around £45 a month for each appointment at the salon, this will def save me money in the long run. I’ve done two sets so far and I love it! I can do exactly the design I want and perfect it to my taste. Still takes me about 4 hours to do a full set but I think I’ll get faster with more practice. Your videos were def a factor in convincing me to give it a go and I’m never setting foot in a nail salon again, except maybe for my wedding if I ever get married lol.

Ok so I’m going to tell you guys the problem with this kit… I have it … I only use the tips for press ons now. When you use it as an apres system, if you are taking a Hot bath or cleaning with hot water. This system will bend and the nails will come off. They aren’t good at

I really like this series! it's nice to know what's out there and actually works. something I use to make it look better around the cuticle and more "natural" is to not put the tip flush with the cuticle. after it is on, you can rough up the end by your cuticle and use a primer to "melt" it and blend it in better. Then, just use a base coat to make it all more smooth. I find that it works best with this method and is good for people who don't have or want to pull out a nail drill!

I got the beetles one and it works well, but I used the nail clips to keep the nails pressed down and I've had no more problems...

Evie, i think the openin on the sides where its “c-shaped” is so you can hold your nail an slide it under side ways to cure until its cured enough to just slide under normally. I wish I could insert a picture to help visualize what im tryin to say bc the way i worded it you probably wont understand how im tryin to explain it.

I bought the ebanku gel tips from Amazon - etched underneath and buffed on top. Also the size range is amazing, including some half sizes (I’ve never seen that before)

I'm laughing at the nail not curing. 😂I did my nails two days ago, put one of the gel tips on crooked, and refused to fix it. I'm redoing that nail while watching this video; couldn't take it no more. Your nail journey gives me hope that I'll be good at this one day.

As an ex nail tech : I like the apres gel system but didn’t want to spend that kind of money for it so I bought kiara sky system instead. Kiara sky is the same as apres but cheaper. Overall I Love it because I don’t have to build and form the nail since I’m lazy to do it myself or ask my fam to do it. Also a tip for anyone using these type of system. You can use a peel off gel base coat for the base coat and it easier removal.

i love the nails but i think you should use a poly gel nail clip to hold it down when useing that lamp i hope its easier but i havnt tried it yet so i dont know but i hope it helped

It's hard finding good nail lamps😩😩. The good ones are very expensive, but I guess definitely worth the money. I'm not a professional so i tend to stay in my financial lane when it comes to nail supplies. You are awesome. Love from VA ♥️♥️

I love the gel x, I always found the nail shop never shaped my nails how I wanted then and filed my nails way too much. Gel x has been my savior.
