Genesis 6:6 is a really interesting passage. Was just talking about it the other day. What it is is that "repented" archaically meant "felt sad" or "was disappointed, " meaning God was sad to see how mankind had fallen into sin. There's some other studies I've read that say he did in fact regret making man because our sole purpose was to worship and glorify him, and while we sin we cannot do that, but my personal interpretation is that although he feels sorrow that we failed him, he does not regret making us and would be overjoyed to see humanity return to him.
Please tell me if you have other interpretations! I'm always happy to learn more about the Word and what others understand from it!
