Many thanks Anthony for these comparison videos. It goes to show that there is very little diference in the results between them except I think for NEO. Competition is always useful and LR is trying hard to keep up. I've been using the LR denoise for my images and have been very pleased so far. I'm sure it will even get better.

I agree with your ranking Anthony. Great series here reviewing each program. For those who aren't pixel peepers, and for those who take things with a grain of salt as you mentioned, I think any one of these programs would be fine for noise reduction.

Anthony, thanks for the video. I wanted to be able to shoot in manual with auto iso and get (virtually) noise free images. I use a Lumix FZ1000 (1" sensor) and shoot at up to 12, 800 iso and can now eliminate the noise. It is amazing! Two years ago I purchased both Topaz denoise, sharpen & gigapixel and DXO PL 5 elite which included the full version of DeepPrime AI noise reduction. There is no comparison to the ease of using DXO DeepPrime (Which is the same thing as Pure Raw). I agree that Topaz AI Denoise is also excellent but it requires that I make several decisions and adjustments in order to get noise reduction that is not quite as good as what I get in DXO. I find that I can leave the single slider in DXO DeepPrime at its default 90% of the time. As a result I no longer use Topaz denoise; I still find Topaz sharpen and gigapixel fantastic tools and use one or both for my important images. I suspect that all of these software will continue to improve until it becomes impossible to actually see a difference between the results. It will just be a matter of which is easier to use in your workflow. Please keep the great videos coming.

Really interesting video. Like you, I have several options - in fact everything you used apart from DxO. When I did my own comparisons, I found that Topaz gave me the best noise reduction, but interestingly enough, I found that Neo gave me the least colour shift when comparing the images at 'fit to screen' size.

LR performs much better if you don't destroy the image by applying the Denoise at 100. Chose the default of 50 instead and it wipes the floor with the rest of the tools...

Wow. The NEO results are totally unusable. I can't believe they actually released the software as is. So many artifacts! People need to ask for their money back.
