I have been paying $60 for oil changes for years. I use mobil one only. Synthetic is required for my Brz. $70 every 5000 miles is reasonable.

this is Crazy!! I pay 17:50 for a 5 quart jug of motorcraft 5w20 semi synthetic and a motorcraft oil filter for 3:50 at walmart and its ford recommended and i drive a taurus and pay about 22 bucks for an oil change 70 dollars is even more expensive then what i payed to get an oil change for a vw toaureg with the v8, 8 quarts of FULL synthetic

70 dollars for an oil change is normal for my VW... However, there is an amazing Nissan dealership that will do it for around 50 dollars... THey have also helped me out with other problems with no charge, such as air in my tires in the freezing polar vortex this year... :)

Mercedes has been doing this for years, and I don't believe they've lost any customer base. Most Mercedes used close to 10 quarts in the 80's and 90's but for good reason, more oil means the oil has a chance to cool down while in the oil pan which makes the engine last longer. The 82' 240d I drive everyday has close to 300, 000miles and I do not baby the car, and I attribute that to regular 5000 mile oil changes

I was expecting the $70 oil change to be for diesel engines. how much are those oil changes going to run ?

My Saturn is content with any kind of oil, but it uses 5 quarts extra between changes. Otherwise stone reliable though.

Most fully synthetic oils are dexos approved anyway, Pennzoil, M1, Valvoline, you name it they probably have the dexos approval. Even the $27.00 M1 fully synthetic is dexos approved.  Also if you go and get an oil change it'll be expensive no matter where you go! learn to do the oil change yourself, it's easy, you'll save time, and a lot of money while getting a really good oil like M1 or pennzoil.

This is not crazy. My shop charges about $70 for a full service non-synthetic oil change. Synthetic oil bumps that up to $100-120 depending on how many quarts. The only reason places can charge you $19.95 for an oil change is by using cheap products and/or by hitting you over the head with upsells. Be realistic people. I know I can get a jug of oil and a filter at Walmart for $30 and change the oil at home, but this is a business. How do you think the business is supposed to pay the employees, rent, electric bill, etc. Go ahead and use all of the cheap oil you want to. When your rings sludge up (around the time the warranty runs out) and your engine starts burning several quarts of oil between oil changes, don't say I didn't tell you about using synthetic oil.

How can you complain about 70$ for an oil change with high quality oil, when for a pos mercedes it costs somewhere around 300$ for normal synthetic oil? I honestly dont understand...

Having rented cars from hertz / enterprise I know they do a poor job of keeping their cars clean. Not to mention all previous customers who scratch n beat the hell out of the cars interiors. Not the best way to make a first impression.

i hated every rental car i had "I even hated the 2011 new Jetta i rented with its cheap hard plastics interior and the Jetta didn't have the multilink suspension i was disappointed and all i drive is VW" except the ford fusion I rented about 2 years ago i will say it wasn't too bad or the nice's out of all the rentals i had
