I get that these bikes are not as fast as the top fuel dragsters, but they *look* faster. Maybe it's because they're smaller. With these bikes, taking off from the start line, it really is a case of "blink and you'll miss it".

Massive respect to anyone who gets on one of these monsters.

I had a top alcohol dragster and I was at a national dragster event in Kearny Nebraska and back in 2003 that track had like grass growing up thru cracks it was the sketchiest strip I've ever raced. So anyways after several passes albeit extremely bumpy and made my back hurt, I was still consistent and fast, until the semi final.... Went down the track and right as I passed about the 1000ft I hit a bump and my air intake bounced and touched my right rear wheel and the wheel ripped it off and threw it under the engine wrapping my fuel line around the block... O__O then it backfired and big pop and lots of fire. Wasn't scary like this but man when you've got a motor making that much pressure that close to you when it goes off? Yeah you remember that shit lol.

I can attest, in my Go Kart days, running fuel, I bench tested my engine with my Nitro mix, got running and it started to over rev, had 2 carbs I closed off the intakes, it kept on over reving with intakes closed off, I then pulled the fuel lines, luckily it did not come apart or cause damage, but in the races I burned holes in 2 pistons.

Great video. As a TV cameraman who does the RF startling camera at the Group 1 events, it's cool to see some insight like this.

That was one thing that Don pruhdome done at tracks they were at, set out back behind trailer, they set the front wheel down just before finish line, it's crazy at the 1/4 mile mark

And that's why wearing a ballistic vest is so important! "The Judge" found out and started wearing one!

Great video Jack. Always wanted to ride a TF Harley but never had the money to build one.

With more power comes more torque which in turn reduces handling. As you roll on the throttle and release the clutch, that torque which launches the bike also raises that front tire (countered by the wheelie bar) ever so slightly. That rise is a loss of front handling. Your basically wheeling down the track at 8.5ft/.10sec

NITROglycerin, triNITROtoulene (TNT), NITROus Oxide, yea, Nitro is some hardcore stuff... 🤯

Anything that carries enough oxygen AND the fuel source with it, to support a huge explosion, is some volatile stuff... and MUST be treated with the utmost respect.

And accidents STILL are inevitable, even when given the respect is deserves.

Ohh noo. It is a danderous mix. Use to use gas-ahol in my uncle's race car in the day. In the 80's to 90's. Dirt track late model. Did not win by the way was young, run average 4 to 6th. Once second in that Camaro ASA chassie.

Nicely produced video on a super interesting topic. Nice to have an entertaining long form video. Keep up the good work and do some more longer videos!

I'm gonna pause this video right now at 6:08 and say, YES ABSOLUTELY Larry McBride's beautiful Star makes profound unfathomable horsepower. BUT, in line 4's produce very smooth power in my opinion, compared to the 45° vtwin single crank pin with a firing order that makes you scratch your head. Plus, the low end torque (60ft-120ft) I'm guessing is much more violent than Spiderman's bike. Has he ever rode aT/F Harley? If not, then he can't really answer that question. Honestly, both scare me a little. But man I sure would LOVE to learn!!

It's an old movie with a bad joke. "Do you like motorcycles? No I just like big things between my legs". These are big things that can take your leg off. These guys have cahones of stainless steel.
