It's a year after you uploaded this video now. I have a simular situation. I have an Asrock Steel Legend B450M with the newest BIOS. First after my build 6 months ago I installed 2x8 GB sticks from Corsair 3000 Mhz and everything worked fine. I have also overclocked it to 3333 Mhz and tuned the settings and everything worked also fine. I have now upgraded with the same Corsair adding 2x extra 2x8 GB 3000 MHZ. First I have load BIOS default and then put XMP which worked perfectly fine. Then I overclocked it to 3333 and it also worked fine for me. Then I tried to tune the timings and I could not reach the same as with original. I was experimenting and have managed to set so much as possible timing which worked stable. I could not set every timing setting as the original but 80%. Everything is working fine and fast. Read and write spead have increased 10%. Asrock B450M Steel Legend is also LOW-to-MIDRANGE motherboard. So, this is my experience. Type Corsair RAM is: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 ... I'm wondering how is the situation now? Cheers. (Sorry for my bad English :)

Even high-end b450 boards have the same issue, wherewith 2 stick of ram it can oc up to 4200mhz but with 4*16 it can max of till 3466mhz. It would be best to check the QVL while purchasing ram

Yeah I also had a very similar issue, that's what I get for cheaping out on my board I suppose

It´s not the board I guess. I´ve got the same issue with my x570 tomahawk.
Running 2X16 gb ram 3600 Mhz runs perfect.
But when I ad 2 more sticks to get a total of 64Gb ram it won´t run above 2600 Mhz

Refer to your MOBO MANUAL!!

I recently purchased the B550 gaming plus and after reading the manual I’ve learned I’m able to clock higher speeds using 2 sticks of ram rather than 4 sticks of ram!

1DPC 1R max speed 4400mhz
1DPC 2R max speed 3866mhz
2DPC 1R max speed 4000mhz
2DPC 2R max speed 3600mhz

Same isue. B450 Aorus PRO, Ryzen 5 2600x and 2x8 G.Skill Falre X running at 3200MHz -> no issues
I added after 2 years 2x8 more of the same RAM sticks and I have only issues, like you described, PC shuts down when going into sleeping mode and won't boot (fans start and cycle but PC doesn't boot) and sometimes it boots with the RAM at 2133 MHz instead of 3200 MHz

I found this video in time, thank you very much!

Good to download CPU-Z and check the timings that the XMP settings actually launch into. Have found with many boards, even though running at the xmp profile speed in MHz the Xmp timing profile, if individual timings are set at "auto" good chance they are not running per the XMP profile. Even possible to increase latency even though you have increased MHz if timings are too loose. Something to keep an eye out for. Need on many occasions to adjust settings like CAS manually in bios to ensure you are getting benefit of higher MHz.

Hello thank you for your video. I'm running 2 pairs lpx 3000 on 3800xt x370 msi gaming plus. Haven't tried to overclock yet, but prime 95 all day. On 1st gen ryzen I couldn't get stable above 2666 with one pair. If this helps anyone else.. 👍

why only 127 views for such a great video, why are you so unpopular ?

Yes makes perfect sense now, I have 64gb of 3600mhz and a tomahawk b450 max and the normal speeds of 3600 is too high so I’m going to try down clocking them today. The ram issue kept failing my flight installation until I used only 1 stick of ram. Thanks

I tried to double the amount of ram by adding an additional 32 gb of ram. After installing the sticks, my P.C will not boot. I will go on and off for a few times, then will just sit doing nothing. Is there something else I need to do to my bios to make this work.

Hi. I ve read at multiple forums that adding 4 sticks can cause stress and load to memory controller of motherboard.is it true? And could it affect my board's long term functionality?

I’m having this same problem, but with a high end motherboard. (Msi X570 gaming edge WiFi with gskill Ripjaws v 3600mhz 4x8) and it crashes at any frequency above 1866mhz unless I take two sticks out. It helps if I up the dram voltage but it still crashes after a workload.

I’m literally having the same issue
I’ve bought 2 identical, 8gb DDR4 3200mhz Corsair RAM sticks, to go from 16GB to 32GB.

And my b450 plus motherboard, just doesn’t want to know.
It tells me that there is hardware failure or whatever when I do a memory check.

Thing is.. I’ve sent it back and replaced the RAM already... so it’s not the sticks.
And I’m banging my head against the wall not being able to find anyone online who understands what the feck I’m trying to describe
“Ooooh did you click it in, ooooh well you must’ve damaged it”

Like NO, fuck... I’m more than capable of clicking in bloody ram, Jesus Christ...

So yeah, it’s lovely to see it’s not me, and it’s actually a known issue
Thanks for the vid bud

I'm planning to buy extra ram 2x8 3200mhz so in total to have 32gb ram for my build.
Tut z490 wifi
10700k
2x8 3200mhz
Do you think it will work fine?

I run 64 GB (4x16) of G.Skill Flare X DDR4 DRAM in my Ryzen 9 5900X gaming/video-editing PC build and set the DOCP to 3200 MT/s (mega-transers per second) on an ASUS Prime X570 Pro ATX motherboard. Everything runs fine.

I run 64 GB (4x16) of G.Skill RipJaws V in my Ryzen 7 5800X work PC build and set up the DOCP to 3200 MT/s on an ASUS Prime B550m WiFi micro-ATX motherboard. Everything runs fine in this PC as well.

2024 and my ASROCK B365 phantom gamer 4 will not run 2666mhz GSKILL AEGIS ram at all. It ran this ram for 5 years total 64 gigs (4) 16gig ram sticks. As of July 2024 and a windows update my system will not run any memory module over 8gig of ram and 2 sticks in dual channel. System was freezing in windows all the time. I thought it was my 9th gen i9 9900k so I repasted it and then changed the AIO from a 2 fan to 3 fan larger cooler. Still would freeze in window. Finally I had to buy new Corsair 3200mhz Ram 8 gigs sticks. System runs stable for now and no freezing.
