What is the difference between true holiness, and holiness that is a figment of the imagination? Even one's conception of God can be nothing more than a product of one's own imagination... a god of our own creation to fit within our comfort zone.

The Torah portion of Kedoshim (Leviticus 19 : 1 - 20 : 27) is read on Shabbat, Iyar 3, 5784 - May 11, 2024

I have always confused holiness, with perfection. How is this done, ? to be holy and part of a world imploding. Being dedicated to God makes most sense to me, following rituals and commandments, yes, but simply loving others and being apart from evil i e. violence, racism, and idolism

... If anyone else thinks he has grounds for putting confidence in human qualifications, I have better grounds:

5 b’rit-milah on the eighth day,

by birth belonging to the people of Isra’el,

from the tribe of Binyamin,

a Hebrew-speaker, with Hebrew-speaking parents,

in regard to the Torah,  a Parush,

6 in regard to zeal, a persecutor of the Messianic Community,

in regard to the righteousness demanded by legalism, blameless.
