During my time in Northern Iraq, we had a PKM at the front gate and it would chew up a truck, every Friday we would shoot it for function, I made sure I was there to have my turn.

Pkm bravo, feeds from right to left with it's tracer belt, unlike other traditional M240.

Just realised the 54r was around when Russia still had an Emperor. I don't think any other type of military equipment can have such longevity.

To all the MG3/MG-42 fanboys out there, I raise you the PKM. 4kg lighter, very reliable, and doesn't have an insane, impractical rate of fire.

Love the 249 with the short barrel at the end next to the big 107. What kinda stock is that on the 249 btw? I see what looks like a folding shoulder rest on it but i dont recognize the stock itself, some kind of special cqb stock or something?
Great channel, straight to the point, love the vid, awesome. Thx

those barrels got so hot! burned my hand many times when shooting about 100 bullet then started rushing forward and hand hit the barrel. But it looked great when full auto for a long time and snow was touching the barrel, hellalot of steam!

Yeah, I think it helps pulling the charging handle back and chambering a round.

Shooting it like barrels grow on trees.

Having been in Ukraine and both firing this weapon and having it fired at me, I can say that it is a decent piece of kit. I am older, and my day saw the M-60... can't help but love that. The biggest problem with the PKM is that it MUST be cleaned after every 1000 rounds or so. Barrel changes would be awesome, but there are few extra barrels in Ukraine. That bullet makes a very nasty wound, and the Russians have been using up the old stock of incendiary rounds.

I love Soviet made light machine guns. My favorite overall lmg is the MG 42 though. Not Russian.

7.62-54R is also really cheap, so this wouldn't be to expensive to shoot.
