6:47 Actually as someone who has seen the reaction to paper Mario series longer and studied longer this Pattern makes perfect sense.
Part One.
Tradional mario bros storyline while adding more in depth story writing around it.
Part 2 characters move to a new location have an entirely new story with same structure.
Part 3 same as 2 but change gameplay back to basic Mario mechanically.
People complained they missed the battle system.

Then new team entirely took over and misread the core wording of core points

Paper=artstyle of a storybook/ they Read arts and Crafts
Mario=Mario

Part 4 Sticker Star became core mario characters with stickers. Realized they messed up and tried again.
Part 5 Core Mario with paint but better. Sales/reception didnt get much better but could also be waived off as Wii u and Switch following year.
Origami King was Core Mario with Origami but remembered far more story elements, and many missing mechanics from the trilogy. But still not close enough. Sales did far better but didnt continue past launch.
Part 7. Ok we hit close, messup better, better but still not there.
So they went back to the point pre problem and started again.
Part 8 will likely be on track
It is wordy but if you read it is accurate across the entire run of the series.

I think this game will sell better than origami king why because there is no competition. Origami king came out on 2020 you will think that there are not many video games that terrible year. But games like Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition mario 3d all stars Pikmin 3 Deluxe and the big one Animal Crossing: New Horizons came that year. From what we know of this year, Paper Mario TTYD is the biggest game to be released this year

Trust me back tracking is biggest issue. I played it 10+ times Never bothered me but definitely going to be a hang up. I like tedious grinds if direction is clear. Origami King was really 4 years ago really wow. Super Paper Mario is great, people main hangup was Rpg, Rpg, platformer with Rpg elements.
If you enjoy Super Paper Mario writing you will enjoy the preivous 2 entries. N64 is on switch too thanks online.

That was my reaction, sarcastic big surprise. We have said that for a decade+ likely best mario story with great gameplay. Resales prices get close to $200. I wonder if demand will go down on Gamecube copies. Since you get a better one that is portable.with slight improvements.
