Moral of the story: don't burn a child with daddy issues or you, your friends and the whole town would be cursed into a Japanese game inspired hellish landscape

They filmed this movie in Brantford Ontario, Canada. The location was perfect, they didn't have to change anything. Burned out cars, road crevaces, ash falling on everything. Even Black Dahlia was a walk-on extra, they had dozens to pick from, all in similar clothing. Weird place.

There are 3 silent hills, the normal, the ashy one, and the demon one. The ashy one is where time stops, so the people there do not age but are haunted when the black silent here appears. Alessa took a while to seperate herself to three, the burnt one, the revengful one and the innocent one. Hence the time lapse. If I recall there are other silent hill movies after this continuing the plot.

Fun fact silent hill is extremely loosely based on a town in PA called Centralia which was built on a coal mine that's still burning till this day.
