Ohh... my dear, sweet Janis. I had the privilege of seeing her in a bar in the San Francisco area in the 60's, maybe 67'or 68', and she blew me away, along with everyone else in the bar. I had never heard blues/rock like that before, nor since. She was a talent too soon gone. Thanks for the memory.

Watching Joplin perform was a TRIP! There were singers that had that special "cry" in their voice; Billie Holiday, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, but Joplin's was as "RAW" as open wound. Her soul was was partially exposed in every song and performance. You felt it like a tremor from an earthquake.
