Hi everyone! Let me know if you have questions about the knife tool in the comments below! :)

hi justin, firstly i would like to thank you for your great work, clear explanations, and free lessons, you are my favorite blender teacher really, as a blender beginner i really understand how much efforts you made to reach such an advanced level .
i would like to suggest something, after viewing your playlists i noticed that they are some how messed so i suggest to reorganise them, from tutorials for beginers about basic tools to beginers modeling to advanced modeling ...etc
as a beginer i usually scroll down to the first playlist and start watching from there, i think all beginers do the same, but i found that your first playlist is modeling ...etc, i believe that reorganising the playlists will greatly enhance your channel.
thank you for your hard work

Always worth watching basic videos as I never use the icons on the left and didn't know the bisect tool existed, big time saver along with all the other features I never knew about - thats the other problem, coming from other software!

I ended up here for another reason but the A key with angle is a great point. That's just saved me faffing around trying to zoom in to get enough precision to hit a particular angle. Awesome Justin!

When you have been doing K>>C for cutting through for so long that you even forgot where the button was, smh, thanks for this refresher video

Is there a way to line up knife cut points with other knife cut points? The distance and angle readout's pretty cool, but it'd be nice to be able to line up a new knife vertex with an existing one in ortho view to make sure the shape that's cut is nice and neat.

I watch a lot of your tutorials and pick up a lot of information to help in most of my blender issues. Sometimes I miss a step in your tutorials and become frustrated with what happened . I have seen people displaying their tool movements down in the corner of the screen which is extremely helpful. I can't work out how you got out of knife mode and back to curser without loosing the the knife mode path.

Thanks a lot for making showing the tricks. Would you please let me know how to use the knife tool to create vertex exactly at 2.2m distance from another vertex? I can see the distance and angle by hitting the S key but how to input 2.2m or a specific value to snap the vertex in that exact distance? Thanks a lot for the great work.

To cut a straight line (A) with the knife tool, we have to go to one of the 2D views. It's time-consuming to add custom loops or multiple straight cuts on an object in this way. I wish they would add this ability to the perspective or orthographic view at least.

Very helpful, thanks! I have been wondering though whether it is possible to edit cut vertices before pressing enter?

Mr Man, you are extremely helpfull. I'm a 3d Studio Max user but want to use Blender, I know what the box modeling tools are and understand 3d modeling but where to find all those tools in Blender. Slice Plane is in 3dsmax and I was looking for that, but a straightening a loopcut deformes the model and is not an option. This straight knife cut in a fixed perspective is exactly what I needed. I'm writing my own little tutorial in case I forget something. Thanks for the videos!

My question is I’ve used the knife tool, I’m in cut through mode, I see the line going fully through the object but I can’t delete the cut off parts.

I’m trying to make a T out of a rectangle for a mounting bracket, and I can’t delete the two small squares on each side.

I’ve tried separation using selection, split, separate. All the tools that by name seem like they would do exactly what I need them to, but they do not apparently even with all the edges selected I need to remove.

What am I doing wrong?
