BUILD A GINGERBREAD HOUSE - Christmas Ginger Bread House Part 1

You will Need

6 cups / 800g of All purpose flour
1.5 cups / 200g of Molasses or Black Treacle
2 Eggs
1 cup / 200g of Butter
1 cup / 200g of Sugar
4 Teaspoons of Dried Ginger
2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon
1/2 a Teaspoon of Nutmeg
1/2 a Teaspoon of Cloves
1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder

For the Royal Icing
8 cups / 1kg of Powdered Sugar
4 Egg Whites

Awesome so far.  Great tip about rolling on the parchment.
I hope I have time to make at least the little house.  I've printed the template but always seem to be running behind schedule.
Today we were hit with a our first snow storm. It was totally unexpected and the shoveling really did me in.  I was fortunate a neighbor came by to give me and Gabby a hand with it. 
I can't wait to see that decorating video.  You always give such great tips that will be very helpful when I attempt this. :)

Hi! I'm planning on doing this recipe for the first time. I was wondering... isn't it too sweet? I mean, 1 cup of sugar and 1.5 of molasses sounds like a lot of sweet. What would happen if I use only half a cup of sugar? thank you!
