Onmy side I saw a lot of beatboxers taking inspiration on River "slow" style, focusing on melody even at the price of not having really hard hitting sound that mark the tempo, unfortunatly I didnt found that they did as good as the original inspiration ! But yeah as always beatboxers love to reproduce what they heard and especially when it sounds good !

Definitely that and the tooth whistle are very trendy, personally I think they’re a bit overused but that’s just common for interesting sounds, same thing with lip rolls back in 2015 and 2021-22 with poh scratch

What I’ve found is that it’s most popular to create an arp with a variety of sounds so it’s more of a melodic combo

This new type of beatbox is really good in itself, but for me personally it's not suitable for battles. It's good for a showcase or a YouTube video to cover a song. That's it.
