His picture of social decline in the UK is so correct. Turkish barbers, charity shops, former local businesses boarded up, poor infrastructure, litter, grafitti, geeks everywhere. And in the meantime, we slouch towards World War III.

I am from Barbados, a former British colony which was always referred to as "Little England" (which really made me proud). Lived there for 5 years in the 70's and loved it, but now I am ashamed of what it has become. I enjoyed the video and listening to Carl explaining the reason for this sad decline. To use a real life example, I moved from South Africa to England 17 years ago to play rugby, back then the UK was a sought after destination for highly skilled and educated people to move to, now in 2024 the vast majority of immigration is unskilled, illegal or students. Highly skilled people would now not even consider the UK as somewhere to move to.

Even basic infrastructure is overloaded. People don't seem to realise that 15 million people use more water more electricity etc. Haven't built a new reservoir in years. It wasn't an issue before but 15 million people enter and people wonder about the so called water shortages and blame it on leaking pipes!

When people are kept down, especially young men, there is often a political uprising. Such a shame that democracy is failing to fix the problem. It feels like 1930s / pre-WW2 Germany.

My town is exactly as how these guys described. I’m only in my late 30s. And in my lifetime it’s gone from a vibrant little town centre, to … vapes, charity shops, takeaway venues, barbers, car washes. Really saddens me.

Being British is not about being placed in an economic zone. It is a genetic identity. When the genetic Brits are gone, so too will the British identity. It will be called something else and the culture will be completely different.
