Not just, they didn’t shoot at day to prevent overheating, they shot at night, with smokes, to prevent the iPhone from catching the glare artifacts, they shot in a diffused light environment, pretty smart!

I feel like if you rig up any phone (flagship) the same way they did with that iPhone, it can produce similar results. It all comes down to camera stability, movement, and lighting, so the average person will not be able to produce anything close to that result. That's my humble opinion.

Plot twist: they shot it on the iphone 17 “prototype”
jamesricks
They also had over $400k in lights as posted by the people who created it and multiple takes due to lighting issues on the phone. Don’t expect to ever get that quality from your iPhone without proper lighting

I’m not gonna pretend I noticed it like most’ll do before it popped up in screen.. mind is blown! But.. how did the got that realistic DOF in the intro part? Looks way to good for Cinematic Mode
bjornjansen
You should have seen behind the scenes the equipments they used are of cinema production level, but still I'm impressed as the camera is most important component, plus they shot it at night (most smart phone camera doesn't work that well in dark)

I wish Steve could see how far the iPhone has come

What do you think the setup was to achieve such a clean look?
philipgreer
Did you see the huge rig an add on lenses and filter they used. So is it shot on iPhone? Can you really state it like that? 😅

iPhone + millions worth of equipment that help the iPhone

Im seeing alot of comments saying they cheated by shooting it in the night to prevent overheating they used professional lighting. Dude even movie cameras need proper lighting instruments to create shots like that that’s called cinematography and why don’t other phone brands shoot there adverts on there own devices don’t they have 300 megapixels cameras? Everyone knows iPhones provide best camera quality and apple knows that too that’s why they produce so many shotoniphone adverts
NerdgenZ
I thought at first that it might be present in all other presentations that Apple did, but wow!

Oh my god no way!? Thanks for being the first person to cover this breaking story 🫥
hsvr
They managed to get RAW data to then process in a high end software program. They also used expensive lighting, etc.

I mean, 90% of us know it was shoot on iphone as so many content creator said it on yt, but we havn’t had more than 5sec of different shot from the actual event. So we don’t know the f how good it ls omg stop this
obed
there have been comparisons of iPhone ProRes vs Red camera. Red beats iPhone ProRes
CalebHigginbotham
With assistance of +2k dollar equipment for stabisation and lightning

What app did they use to keep exposure on point?
victordelacruz
Absolutely looks shot on a phone…. Which isn’t much of an insult because phones are good cameras but it still has the lol
ChristianVezina
They used gear worth 12000 dollars to shoot the whole video
