I was literally laughing when I first saw this.. still mocking Ted.. fast forward to 2018, this scene makes me emotional because I didn't move on and I still love my girl. I have these exact same feelings

It takes finding someone in your life that you care about more than yourself, and losing that someone to truly understand how Ted really feels in this scene. To wake up every morning and fall asleep at night without that person next to you. To have that one person who you would do the smallest things for, and go to the end of the earth for, just to see a smile on their face... To give a part of yourself to someone, and to hope that one day you could hold them in your arms again, and never let go. When you care about someone so deeply, that to your core, you know that they are the one that's meant to be in your life forever... That's what Ted really feels.

I cried over and over again watching this scene, cuz I love her so much, and this whole speech is exactly how I feel about her.
This would be the time capsule for our relationship, and I hope seven years later, we're married.

In my experience, this is half true. Yes, love is wanting to give someone everything they want. It's caring about them even when it's not rational because the emotion of love is itself irrational. It's not giving up on them.

But loving someone even when it destroys you isn't healthy. You have to respect yourself enough to pull yourself out when you're not being appreciated. They can be your safe place and your confidant, but they can't be your only anchor. You can't need them more than they need you.

You know, the fact that Ted is staying strong to what he believes in really takes a lot, of anyone was to say this speech to anyone (any boy or girl) most likely they would be looked at as an obsessed weirdo. Respects to Ted and anyone who agrees or is motivated like Ted.

This ist the reason, why I love this Sitcom. I can identify with Ted, because of a reason I don't know, the world is without love. The world could be so beautiful if the world would be filled with love. Why do you don't love? Love is the best thing we have.

So there’s this girl that I never felt for in my entire life. She’s different, she’s unique, she’s special, she’s gorgeous. She’s the one I want to be with, the only person, I think about her day in and day out. It kills me that I’ll never be able to show her true happiness, comfort and love.
