"Over There" - a popular American war song that gained much fame during both world wars. The song was written in 1917 by George M. Cohan, although versions recorded by artists such as Nora Bayes, Enrico Caruso and Billy Murray are better known. The song became popular even during World War I. In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt honored Cohan with the Congressional Gold Medal for this composition, among others.
