For people with opinions that this tutorial is too fast. The tutorial is not too fast, it is created so that no word or time would be wasted for more than one example end explaining a subject further. When he explaines one subejct and jumps to a differrent one it is your job to pause the video, go to Google and read about it with as many examples as you like. Once you are happy with the idea, you come back to this video and watch it further. It is only ~1.5 hour long, but if you are actually trying to learn this it will take you at least 5 or 6 hours to watch it properly at least once. This tutorial is an example of a perfectly efficient tutorial where tons of information is given and tons of your own action is required. This is the best way to learn something and Derek is a genius by making these tutorials because he doesn't waist even a second of your time. Respect him and be grateful.

For those of you who think this is to fast, there is an option to slow down the video. Derek always posts excellent SUCCINCT tutorials. Thank You Derek, keep doing what you are doing :-)

I'm only 15 minutes in and I must have spent an hour on this video already. It's so dense with information, I've made 20+ flashcards and I feel like I'm learning so much very quickly. Thanks for the great resource.

Hey Derek, i just want to thank you for all your help. It's amazing how much you have help me though your videos without even know it. Every time i'm finishing one of the videos i'm seeing online, i'm telling myself that one day i'll have the knowledge to help people as well. You guys are heroes.
Thank you.

AMAZING VIDEO!!! 24 minutes in and I am just beginning but this moves super fast while also covering everything people want to see. The best part is that you show how to use it in websites and show practicality unlike online school

Derek,

You have changed my life. You videos EXACTLY match my learning style. I can only learn visually, and I have to understand the key concepts, and I want to learn them quick first and then go into details. That is what you do very very well. I never thought I could learn so much in life. I have self-taught most of the things, and I suddenly found a teacher that speaks my language! Between you and StackOverflow, my life is made!

You might find this strange, but I watch your videos when I feel low - I watch your videos to keep my brain active - I watch them when I exercise - I watch them to relax - I watch them for entertainment.

I have been truly inspired by your selfless efforts. I hope to make tutorials one day..

I don't know where else to make this request. I think you should make a series on Polymer, starting with webcomponents introduction. There is a real gap.

I know you are busy and perhaps not have the time to read this comment, as it is likely one of the thousands. But, if this inspires someone else reading it, as you say, it is worth it.

Wishing you the best in your journey.

Natraj

Derek Banas is one of the coolest human beings alive! I love to watch those one-video-tutorials. For those who are already familiar with the technology, it's a great way to recyle your knowledge.

Awesome tutorial. I've been talking about the importance of learning java and some people always tell me that they find it difficult. This video definitely makes it super easy for everyone to understand. Good job Derek

There is no way you wouldn't enter any educational institution and not be the most important resource in the building.
I really wish you were an instructor at my college, sadly we are stuck with third grade instructors who literally go through the entire W3cschools website only to read us information that is already available. Of course anyone of your 1 hour videos surpasses any 11week class on code that I've had so far. Yet those lame instructors are the ones burping with our tuition money.
I am very happy that this channel exists, please continue with the outsatnding service. Derek Banas's teaching style is second to none.

Man I don't know what I'd do without you. C++ for my school and your videos are not in-depth enough for that, but for everything else your my one-stop shop. I've used your python tutorials to get me started on web scraping and working with web APIs (and found in the progress python is my favorite language so far), used your Lua tutorial to help me write code for some games that use a lua interpreter, and here I am again using your videos to get me up an running in JS for roll20's API. I said it in another video, but while your vids require some semblance of experience in programming, they are utterly perfect when your jumping into a language and are ready to 'go' and don't want to spend 10 hours combing through intro to programming videos in that language.

Hi Derek, great tutorial, nice and compact... Many thanks !!! I read through some comments and realized how you learn new languages and how you structured / created this tutorial.
I have a little comment on that function getInfo(cust) ...1:23:48 It works fine in your video but will be a problem e.g. when using it by passing an other object...
document.write(getInfo(cust2), "<br />");
Inside the function it's not using the object "cust" passed to the function but instead using the cust1 object outside.

Hi, Derek. I'm back..I have always liked your presentations. They are a credit to online education. JavaScript was a breeze. How many people can say that?
Thank you for your time. Peace :)

This is definitely an understatement, but holy crap! The time and effort that went into this to keep things straight forward and simple for those of us learning the language is simply amazing. Derek, thank you for your work!

How did I know that you would have a video all set for a language that I'm interested in learning? Lol great job making these high quality and straightforward tutorials!

Also I'm glad to see your first name is the correct (and only) spelling 😂
