FOX News Host Asks 'Why Vegans Tell People What to Eat.' I Respond.

Tucker: You’ve got your views about what we ought to be eating. I do, too. I love burrata, but I’m not trying to force anybody else to eat burrata. It seems to be taking a large step to think you have the right to be telling other people to what to eat. Why are you doing that?
Me: People are being told what to eat all the time. If we didn’t all agree with that, advertisers wouldn’t waste their money. We’re bombarded with messages throughout our day that tell us we should be consuming as much meat, dairy, and eggs as possible — and that if we don’t, we’re going to be unhealthy. That message isn’t coming from unbiased sources. It’s coming from the industries that benefit financially from telling us what to eat. So really, the question really is why do we accept that it’s okay to be told what to eat when it’s from biased sources with an agenda to make money but when a vegan shows up shining a light on the detrimental effects of animal products, people say don’t tell me what to eat, stop imposing your agenda on me? Well, okay. I have an agenda, and that agenda is compassion. It’s to stop the senseless violence against billions of animals and to empower people to make informed food choices so they can take back their health. I’m biased. My bias is compassion.
