I’ve been to St Pauls many times but only ever had previously gone up to the Whispering Gallery. Last year I climbed to the Golden Gallery. It’s hard to articulate how that view makes you feel when you walk out of that portico. It’s emotionally awe inspiring mixed with burning legs and adrenaline. I realized that this is the reaction and metaphor Wren intended for visitors.
A bit of earthly suffering for a huge reward up in the heavens. London is just my favorite city on Earth. There are endless fascinating things in that old town. Cheers from 🇺🇸.
