Italy’s New Government Is Male, Populist and Euroskeptic

Since the last parliamentary elections on March 4, it took 90 days and a minor constitutional crisis for Italy to be able to form a government.
Giuseppe Conte was sworn in as Italy’s new Prime Minister on June 1 after the two largest parties, the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) and the right-wing League finally reached a coalition agreement on May 31.
