The Other Bennet sister was one of my favourites as well! It was so good. I put Mr Loverman on my tbr, you made it sound so interesting! 🥰

Happy New Year, Charlotte and all the best wishes for you and yours. I got Matilda by Catherine Hanley for Christmas because although you have been so so! quiet about her and the book I somehow could not get it out of my head after watching your videos :D I'm really looking forward to learn more about her.

120 books is incredible!! Well done <3 Somebody Give this Heart a Pen sounds beautiful, I rediscovered my love for poetry this year so I've been looking for new recommendations! Also Red, White + Royal Blue is a go to comfort read for me, the Anne Boleyn line went completely over my head though so thank you for bringing light to it :') <3

My mum got Matilda by Catherine Hanley for Christmas (Matilda is also one of our favourite historical figures) and I may have to borrow it off her at some point when I'm allowed to see her again. It sounds fab!

Your outrage about Matilda is contagious. I had such an enjoyable time reading « The Other Bennett Sister “ this year. I’m with you, I got halfway and was happy that there was so much left to read. My Dark Vanessa sounds fascinating.

So many people have been loving Elizabeth Gaskell this year, I need to give her a try.

I'm reading My Dark Vanessa this year, exciting to see it on your best books list!

So many wonderful books! What a fantastic reading year. I'm particularly keen to read Mr Loverman this year and hearing your thoughts makes me even more enthusiastic to pick it up!

Happy New Year Charlotte! I’ve loved your videos. Mr Loverman was added straight to my TBR, and I really will have to prioritise the rest of the Cromwell trilogy - I loved Wolf Hall earlier this year but I feel like I sped though it so fast I could benefit from a reread before continuing 😁 but like you said it’s a huge commitment length-wise! I never heard the news about the The Other Bennett Sister adaptation, how exciting!!

Came over from Books and Things and left a subscription. It seems our reading tastes overlap quite a bit. 😊

Okay, I have to read Matilda. I think I read Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick a few years ago and that's how I originally learned about her.

I’ve always been into the English monarchy since a child. And I remember when I was around 9/10 asking wasn’t there a queen Matilda? And no one could answer me, I feel your pain 😂 I will pick up that book to further educate myself on her life

Don’t judge me watching your vlogmas videos backwards because I haven’t watched any booktube in so so long 🙈
I really want to read Red, White and Royal Blue, and I’m so glad you raved about The Other Bennett Sister or I wouldn’t have read it myself and I loved it so much 🥰

Ok SOMEHOW I had no idea Bernadine Evaristo has written other books? But of course??? Not every book is a debut 😬

Guess I'm one of those dreaded conservatives, but we have the love of (good) books in common. Happy New Year! : )
