Definitely agree with this. Too many people want to jump into the cool stuff without the foundation

All beginners should know the fundamentals of programming along with decomposition. You will never build anything if you know loops but can't break a problem into small enough pieces that are actually solvable.

Great advice. I have a CS degree and will be taking an intro to machine learning at the Masters level soon. I’ve been coding for over two years. It’ll be my first plunge into it.

Forgot where I heard this as a kid. A master always practices the basics

Wise words that are destroying a dream. I guess I just have to wait and learn machine language later on.😅

Gotta love to learn something then have the next section say well the good thing is we don't need to do it that way anymore.. 😵‍💫

the sad thing is that this opinion is not what the main stream say because it's not sexy or cool to tell someone that they have to spend extra time to learn the fundementals

Loool coding is the easiest thing. You can literally learn it within 2 weeks to a really good level as for machine learning it's very heavily maths based. The issue was never the coding stop over exaggerating it it's the maths. Give me any programming language I'll learn it's syntax within a crash course and get familiarised and comfortable with it within a week max. Deep learning or any type of machine learning is all about maths not coding. Coding you're just using API if you want to make it yourself you need even more maths ;) stop over exaggerating coding what these guys need is a in-depth maths course not coding course
