Thracians are today’s Bulgarians. Many of the traditions still persist. They are the oldest European civilization. I watched a documentary on BBC. In today’s city of Varna they discovered the World’s oldest gold treasure. Over 6 thousand years old. Incredible.

Everything in the video was great except you lost me at “breakup of the Roman Empire followed by the Byzantine empire.” The word Byzantine empire didn’t exist until the 19th century. What you know as the Byzantine empire is the actual uninterrupted continuation of the eastern half of the Roman Empire. To say the two are separate is like saying USA and US are two separate entities.
