Many complain that Arch Enemy no longer plays MDM and is more of a kind of "Modern Metal" with harsh vocals, and frankly, I agree with them on that point. BUT, I personally don't dislike it; over the years, I've learned to like this new sound. If I want to hear real MDM, I go and pick up one of the band's early CDs, and that's it. Problem solved.

One of the most fun albums I've heard this year. Need more fun albums.

I laughed when YouTube's auto-generated subtitles said "Elisa White Gloves" and "melodeaf" 🤣

I like this album a fair bit actually, only heard it once in full on there livestream release last night and enjoyed it front to back, its definetly got its highs and afew tracks that are perhaps a little less inspired, but it flows really well for a album with so much diversity, also it feels like they had a blast writing this thing and just wrote what they wanted to and took afew risks which mostly payed off and while they arent reinventing themselves they definetly pushed afew ideas outside of the box, overall i think i slightly preffered there previous album Deceivers though but that could change in time as a first listen it is hard to fully judge especially when you just wanna listen through and have some fun with it.

I’ve only listened to it twice, but I love it. I’ll admit the 4 songs they released before the album came out are the best, but Illuminate the Path, March of the Miscreants, and Don’t look Down are bangers. Is it groundbreaking, no. But is it Arch Enemy kicking ass, yes. This is why I listen to Arch Enemy, they’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. Just playing metal the way they do. 🤘😎🤘

Vivre Libre is NOT a dud. You clearly don't appreciate beautiful clean singing.

I need to give it a couple more listens, but I feel like this is going to be their best album with Alissa (not their best overall). Arch Enemy finally sound like they're back at the top of their game, something Deceivers came close to but didn't quite hit.

this album gives me the theyre still experimenting impression like what youve compared some of their tracks to different metal bands. its all over the place and thats fine since theyre mainstream now

I think it's a great album! I don't miss Angela's voice at all, I have to say this!

It’s good. Anyway time for Deafheaven. Not trying to put down Arch Enemy, the album is good, it’s just releasing near the Deafheaven, which is so good.

I’m digging this album. It’s very thrashy, it’s still melodic death metal, Alyssa sounds great, and it’s still brutal. I almost feel like they leaned into the anthemic power metal side of their sound they’ve been slowly building over the years. Totally agree in the cover being a huge dud. Hard skip. I don’t need an Arch Enemy song with all clean singing in general. Overall I really like what I’m hearing here and really look forward to seeing them play these songs live

I’m surprised more people aren’t bringing up how the chorus of Illuminate the Path sounds like a chorus from a Soilwork song. I just can’t unhear it every time I listen to it lol.

I'm a huge arch enemy fan and they have a perfect combination of heavy guitars and beautiful melodies and harmonies but is difficult after so many albums create something new, especialy in this genre but they never made a shitty album.that's all i wanna say.Nice review

They are a solid band. Do they reinvent the wheel… no, but who cares its fun death metal.

I like it. I used to not like the Alissa era of Arch Enemy but its growing on me. She's more versatile of a singer than Angela.

Wages of Sin-Khaos Legions was peak Arch Enemy. Hasn't been the same since Angela and Chris left, and that's sad considering Jeff freaking Loomis was in the band.

Arch Enemy is exactly fine. I don't actively listen to them, but I won't skip a song of theirs in a playlist or anything like that. I'll give this album a chance, but with all the other amazing releases this month, I don't think I'll be revisiting this one often.
