Robbie is one of the most underrated guitarists. When I saw him live with the doors of the 20th century he was awesome

Robbie is beyond comparison. The best blues: Roadhouse Blues, Love me Two Times, The best psychedelia: The End, Light My Fire. He was an innovative slide player, and classical player too.
He blended perfectly with The Door's other players. Why we never heard much more from him I can only imagine, but what he laid down was masterful, and I am in forever awe of him, since I bought The Doors album in 68. His You Tube vids are way cool too.

The best thing about The Doors is that Robbie, Ray and John were instrumentalists, masters of their instruments, who obviously knew a lot about music theory due to their distinct backgrounds. They added classical music, jazz, eastern influences, country, blues and Jim's poetry to their music which made them more than a rock n roll band. The beauty of their music is their musicianship; creating space, pauses, breathing spaces, always flowing from quietness to diapason, making their songs orgasmic in nature. Best thing about Robbie is that he doesn't waste notes. His solos are like one long trip to the unknown. They fearlessly explore the depths of our souls and calmly or violently bring us back to our feet. Long live The Doors and Aloha from the islands!

Robbie is a genius player. When the musics over is a unique solo and fits the song perfectly.

It's shocking that he's from such a huge band and so underrated. Robbie is amazing.

Robbie is such a versatile player, he can go from pure attitude like the studio version of "Back Door Man", the cosmic heights of "Twentieth Century Fox" to the gritty blues of "Been Down so Long". He always played what fit best with the song. The Doors library is vast and there are so many great live versions of songs. Great choice picking Robbie, he is one of the best.
