Love it when Jordan Peterson is in total agreement with someone
It’s almost a relief for him

One huge difference is the Christian doctrine of grace. Forgiveness and reconciliation, not to be confused with subjugation, are central to Christianity.

It's nice to see Prof. Jordan seem happier in this video, then I have seen him in most others. Two intellects enjoying simply being.

I never would have made that comparison on my own. I’m very grateful to have listened to this entire conversation. Fantastic

Also Moohamed was only a person. Christ is (still and always) the son of God

Religious texts are also highly metaphorical and those metaphors translate into rhetoric. Not to mention it’s from ancient languages in which context greatly applies, especially as the languages evolved.

Western society tries to eliminate child sacrifice. Islam keeps it going.

“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Islam also has the principle of abrogation, which says that if two verses in the scripture contradict each other, then the newer one is true. That's a bit hard to have without accepting that there are contradictions

As long as everyone understands that it’s all mythology, it’s fine. The Greeks, for example, understood that stories contained truth/were meant to lead the listener towards truth, but that the stories themselves weren’t “true” in the modern religious sense of that term. A true story and a story containing truth aren’t the same thing.

Well, orthodox Christianity (in the most strict and literal meaning of the word "orthodox"; not to be confounded with the denominations of the East) treats the Bible as infallible.

Some great scholars, however, while holding some parts to be literal, treat other parts—most notably, Genesis—as allegory which is trying to convey meaning which is not literal.

Just look at Islamic countries and Christian Countries you would know the difference.

Wow. I didn't know that. I listened to a pdcast of JP and a Muslim official who actively tried to convert him during their interview. His attempts i found manipulative as he played music and qoted from the quaran. JP called him out for it. Needless to say it did nothing for me nor JP. Im not against the Muslim religion, but I know my faith is in GOD, not a book, or a word.

Just to push back on this a bit: Jay Smith (active in addressing/studying Islam vs. Christianity) notes that both of these religions have "the man and the book".
I think this is a helpful alignment in terms of making proper comparisons because then you can juxtapose Jesus vs. Muhammad and the Bible vs. Quran.
