As you might expect, I won’t buy a vacuum with a camera in it because companies have shown that they cannot be trusted with your data or to secure their systems. I’d love to know how bad the non-camera systems were in comparison to the entry level vacuums with only bump sensors and spinning lasers.

The Eufy S1 is really impressive. Not only is the obstacle avoidance great, but so is it's navigation. Seems like Eufy really put some effort into the actual robot part of the robot vacuum. It navigates into really tight spots that other vacs I've tried won't even attempt, and it will very rarely touch anything, it's quite impressive honestly.

In a house with kids, pets, lots of people, I can see how this is an important feature. I live alone, small place, and am a neat freak, so rarely have any obstacle issue

My understanding is that the binocular camera systems (as Narwal Freo Z Ultra and Samsung Jet Bot) currently offer the best obstacle avoidance systems. The new Roborock Slim with Starsight 1.0 seems to be really bad at obstacle avoidance (seen multiple videos of it having issues with cables and slippers). However I am looking forward to the next gen Roborock G20S Ultra with Starsight 2.0 and its new vertical laser system.

I've just upgraded from the Roborock Q7+ to the Dreame X40 Pro. The Dreame is an absolutely brilliant robot vacuum. I used to always use the max power setting on my Roborock, because more is more 😅, with Dreame I use it on its "Clean Genius" setting. It knows how dirty the floor is and increases suction as it goes. It also then goes back and recleans the dirtiest areas.
The mop system is amazing, it even cleans better than my Dreame H12 Pro wet and dry vacuum!

In these videos its really annoying that you don't show the footage of how the top 5 and bottom 5 actually performed. This video would be so much better if you did 10 - 30 seconds per robot from worst to best, giving each a score and then finally showing the complete list. It's annoying, because it seems you've done the tests, you've done the work and collected the footage, but then you never show it.
