Read it, love it, definitely not for kids. Honestly probably a middle school level read based on content, themes, and tones. Should be introduced appropriately with context and direction.

Good day, John, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Here in Texas the Holocaust and WWII are taught in 5th grade. Now how teachers navigate that is another question but they are in their social studies text books. I think Spieglman intended the book for adults since he came from the underground comic book tradition. That doesn't mean he would object to kids reading it. I don't think he would.

The most shocking thing about Maus is the author/illustrator also did Garbage Pale Kids.
