If you’re new to Geek Psychology, my name is Matt Sherman. People call me Sherman. I'm a personality type expert, life coach, hypnotist, author, podcaster, and course creator. I help mainly INFPs embrace their unique strengths and navigate life's challenges. Through practical strategies and deep insights, I aim to help people like you live a more fulfilling and authentic live where you can wake up and feel good about who you are and your impact on the world. I always wondered how to persuade others to change their mindset and do things to better their lives. This way to persuade anyone isn't really about fancy persuasion techniques to influence people, it's a more ethical approach of digging down to what motivates them.

Luckily, I've figured out a great way to convince people to do things based on digging into what's important to them.

I hope it helps!

It is hard for me personally to watch people hurt themselves because it provokes a deeply rooted sense of helplessness. I appreciate this video because I know i'm not the only one who wishes to find additional avenues to help ease their friends pain.

Hey there!!!! Keep up the quality content. After awakening oneself, one should also make others awake and make them shine bright, reaching their full potential!!! ♥

*Hi, so I have a video idea for a part 2 of this:*
2. Explaining them 1 by 1 while going through them on your desktop screen on wikipedia and how they are used.
(so like lets play camera stuff where we see you explaining stuff )
3. Perhaps showing the modes of persuasion in action in other people.

-It would be cool to see more showcases of people doing stuff you are talking about in your videos,
showing words, points or step-by-step instructions (if its necessary)

Organizing the video into seperate parts could be benefitial,
Movies are organized according to a dramatic structure
so it might be fun to experiment with that.

Thanks for sharing. I apologize in advance if this comes across harshly. I think you’re a good person and it is not my wish to be hurtful, but to put forward an alternative point of view. It certainly is hard for a lot of people to change long-established habits, particularly when these have crossed into the realm of addiction - providing a measure of comfort, albeit false comfort, amidst a world of hurt. Based on my own experience, for this method to work, it seems to me I would need to find somebody with a lot of patience to stay with me through such a persistent line of “why” questioning. Members of Al-Anon in 133 countries would attest that there is no way to coerce or manipulate others to change if they are not ready, and that to suggest otherwise is to offer false hope to the people who love them.

Judging by how helpful and committed you are to this channel, I think we can safely say that the number of people with broken subscribe buttons is truly astonishing.

I tried to help a kind of INFP yesterday, he is a music student so I asked him what are his favorite music genres and if he prefer the technical or emotional aspect of these, he prefer the emotion so I started to explore how does he feel, he talked about his personnal experiences with other and then I gave him advice for the Thinking/sensing inferior from my experience and Dave super power videos. I don’t really know my type but I’m in the IN field and it’s okay as long as I can give advice based on type estimations, I’m kinda new to it and i try to figure out the physical manifestations of the cognitive fonction which are more genuine than how a person see themself and how they want to be seen. I rly like your videos, it’s funny that you as an infp try to help us infp to help other infp or « thinking/sensing inferior », that’s how it should work!

This makes so much sense and sounds helpful... I think it's better to let people explore their motivation than assume and give an advice from you own point of view.
But t then I saw you mentioning NLP, did research and basically found things like black magic and manipulating people in an evil intended way... And now I'm scared...

Hi Matt, insightful as always :) This seems similar to the coaching model we use to resolve conflict/problem-solve. I have a question: can this method be used to treat personal biases/hatreds like Trump derangement syndrome, flat-earthers or anti-vaxxers?
