OMG! how can a person even do that damage to the speaker cabinet??? did they drag them on the floor or what.. unbelievable.. I would never do such a thing.. beside good sound, the speakers must be also beautiful to look!

Yes, you definetly need to sell all the stuff you don't use. Can't enjoy all these speakers. Concentrate on your favourite parts. Maybe test some speakers but sell them.

I have had a pair of LS909 for many years and recently acquired a pair of LS990 - which are the same except for cosmetic differences. I am listening to them stacked with the upper ones inverted (like stacked Advents) using a pair Kenwood L07M monoblocks and the matching L07C preamplifier to drive them Very powerful and impressive. Are they the best speakers ever - no, but they are great fun and very dynamic. i highly recommend them.

Monsters! Actually nearly finished my set and will be putting them away as there just too big for my living room. The build quality is fantastic but can't work out why Kenwood decided to staple the back of tone controls to cabinet which made it a pig to remove crossover as it's hard wired? Removing caps also was hard as Kenwood used super tough glue to hold them in place 😡I used lightweight dye thats used in medical industry to rewhite the cones as it's virtually weightless . Looks OEM original. Definitely don't paint as weight will change the cones frequency I also dyed them before the new foam surround was fitted. Can send before and after pics of the cones as mine were much worse than yours.

Andrew, when you talk about best vintage speakers you already had, you always forget to mention the Philips 22rh497! they are one of the best sounding speakers.. (and that`s real vintage from early 70s), only two speakers from Philips series were better, the Philips 22RH427 (with double active woofers) and 22RH457 (also 2 woofers but one is passive) OMG that sound! so great balanced, rich & clean, full sound
you have probably seen them - big large boxes, but not so deep, with non removable cloth covers...
they had big cross shaped logo-mark: Hi-Fi International... everyone who has or had them knows what I`m talking about!
very very good speakers, 100% vintage... (made in Holland)!

That is exactly what kinda woofers that are in my fishers only mine are 16 inch has that white cones they pound...and it does not matter what they look like looks can be fixed...it's how they sound is what counts they look like descent sounding speakers I have a set of Kenwood's there 15 inch has that real tight sound don't know anything about them there never heard a pair..

Those Kenwood's you got are like a 12 inch woofer and the Tweeter is called a bullet tweeter they sound good and i like the big midrange i like the square ones....ill bet they sound sound decent Kenwood made decent speakers back then..

Whenever you do a VS test on the Kenwood's put them on a Amp that puts out about 200 watt a side and they will sound very good for you always go a bit more on the power amp what the speaker is rated for just dont drive the amp real hard to them then ur asking for a blow out you can try that Yamaha amp on them that should be good one to use..
