Even I know this kid.
His name is Stephen and I think he's around 4-5 years.
I've met him in many tournaments in Tamil Nadu.

Instead of playing g7, White had a quicker and more beautiful checkmate. It was to play Rf8 when the opponent played Rg8. Forces black to play Rxf8 and then g7#.

He would be a future GM if he promoted to a rook 😂

Funny thing is the position is a draw after Kh6 if black plays Ra6

After Ra6+ Rf6 R×f6 + was a simple draw because K×f6 K×h7 Kf7 Kh8 g6 stalemate

At 00.15, after rg8, instead of pawn push he could have played Rf8. A CLASSIC ROOK SACRIFICE. The only move black can play is to capture the rook. And then we play g7 which is a beautiful checkmate.

opponent could have played RA7 for a stalemate

1...Re8 was a blunder. 1...Ra6!!= is a draw due to stalemate. I saw exactly the same position in a hungarian first class game between IM Gyula Horvath and IM Anita Gara from 2010.
The point is the rook can't be taken due to stalemate, and any other moves ends in a draw too

The fact that black could make a stalemate if he took the rook after Kh6💀

Rf8 would have been brilliant but he already did a great job

Funny thing, in that position where he played g7+ for M3, it was actually M2 with the rook sacrifice Rf8!!
