Sorry, but this is a stellar album. Everything doesn't need to be intellecutal. The album IS called "Age of Pleasure" so this wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. Only criticism I have is that it's too short. We'll probably get a deluxe at some point.

I loved this album it had no skips, it felt like one giant song which is her brand. I loved it

I loved this album, I love when a GOOD good artist does a project like this, unpretentious and not worrying about reaching something. I feel like Janelle must have had a lot of fun doing this album and wasn't worried about her Metacritic-friendly status. Every great artist has albums that in 10, 15 years will become "classics", "summer anthems", etc..

Album might be a 6 in Anthony's eyes but we can all agree the visuals are a 10

Every album you give a 6 I find myself enjoying way too much 😂

Pleasuring yourself for 6 minutes and 9 seconds straight isn't a review, Antoine

Are you trying to lure me into homosexuality with that fit, Tony? It's working.

I loved this album honestly I think Age of Pleasure makes sense with the repeating verses because its like going back to something that gives you pleasure not a single miss here imo

Feels like a lighthearted summer album to put on in the background while you’re having a pool party with friends. I probably won’t be returning to it much as no song stands out to me but still a nice vibe.

I honestly miss her sound from The Archandroid. Seems like no one else does lol. This is her only album I haven't really cared for

i would've loved if this project was packaged as a mixtape or an ep. it just doesn't hold up next to her other albums

Still waiting for "The Age Of Cal Chuchesta". Will it drop anytime soon? He's taking way too long to drop after his celebrated Mixtape.

I think the album is great. It's not supposed to be an album that breaks bounds of the Monaeisms but it's simply what Monae calls it: a party album! Nothing more, nothing less! It's chock full with Pan-African instrumentalism and themes of fun, expression, sexuality and love, especially in a time of policing bodies and rights. 💖💖💖💖
And to everyone who is angry that Monae has suddenly come out being 'indecent' or showing her body more, you are wrong. She's been expressing these sentiments since releasing 'Yoga' in 2015 (You cannot police me, so get off my areola) and 'Pynk' in 2018 ('Cause boy it's cool if you got blue, we got the pink / Pink like the inside of your...)

I like the smooth transitions from one song to the next it’s so cohesive

Kinda surprised by your critique, but its fine. I love this album. Its fun, its liberating and free. its great party/dance music! There’s not much to it! That’s the statement. It’s not supposed to be deep. And I love that they had fun with it.

The production reminds me so much of the African folk music I grew up listening to. Love it love it love it!

Anthony just screaming "im in my age of pleasure" while climaxing is not a review. Im calling the police.

i do hope the metropolis suite will be completed someday - this just seems like a fun summer album. plus celebrating queer sexuality right now while it's under a lot of fire is pretty meaningful
