Hi I'm 75 years old and grew up hearing Elvis singing. It took maybe one second for me to think, "that is not Elvis", . lol

Only needed that first clip to know it wasn't Elvis

I love the way you smile everytime you hear Elvis sing. 😂 His voice tends to do that to people.

Elvis had quite the vibrato, and the first singer’s voice was no comparison to the real Elvis. Thanks for your excellent analysis, Fil!

The more you analyze Elvis' voice the more you realise how unique it was.

Elvis’ voice is inimitable and irreplaceable.

If Elvis sounded like that, He'd have sold zero records.

Fil, that is not Elvis's voice! It only took a second for me to know that was not Elvis! Elvis had a very distinctive voice that I know immediately! Great presentation, but I knew right away that was not Elvis doing the vocal! Good job, Fil 💜

I grew up hearing Elvis and realized that wasn't Elvis. Your pitch monitoring software confirmed my opinion. Thank you for the analysis and another wee trip down memory lane for me.

Fascinating. We’re lucky pitch correction wasn’t possible in Elvis’ day. The studios would have robbed us of this distinctive voice.

I’ve only been an Elvis fan for a little over a year, but that first phrase sung without his captivating vibrato confirmed a painfully obvious “no” to the question.

That first line was already more than my ears could stomach lol

It’s a little bit painful to think that anyone had to seriously wonder whether that voice was Elvis’ or not. Three words in and it was a definite “that’s not Elvis!” Love it when Elvis is the topic, though! 😊

😂😂❤😂 ANOTHER real give-away is that imitators can ONLY imitate Elvis's heavier tone and are crap at trying to imitate Elvis light voice. Elvis' head voice has such body that imitators are stymied. They can imitate a heavy tone with effort, but his light voice is so rich it's untouchable ❤

OMG! I’m a huge Elvis fan. I listen to him every day. I knew that was not him when the first three words were sang.

Crying in the Chapel is a superb recording, just exquisite. His voice is just perfect.

I’ve been a fan of Elvis for almost sixty years … I’m 72 now. Elvis had such a beautiful voice, & I have heard it so many times, that I could immediately say that that voice was Not his. It was heavy & dull with none of that wonderful Elvis vibrato, which makes his voice so unique & instantly recognisable to those who have enjoyed listening to it for many, many years. Interesting to watch this. Thanks for a great analysis.

Detective Fil gets right down to it. There’s no way, that vocal is Elvis. If I ever make it across the pond, it would be a pleasure to hang, jam, and talk music with you. I just love your channel. Your appreciation for anything of quality is your forte. You’re the Best Fil.
