Some people don’t realise that the 930+ lbs animals we ride, are controlled with our hands, feet, and kinda our waist (in some ways). The horse has its OWN mind, and the horse could easily Buck/rear you off, and crush you in a second.

I was bucked off for the first time yesterday, and I’ve ridden for four years. It only really dawned on me the danger of what I do weekly, but I still want to to go again and conquer the nerves.

The normal person can remember up to 5-7 things...
Equestrains:
I could die right now
Arms straight
Hands Sfot
Heels down
Leg on
Fast Leg aid
Keep the reins short
Horse could take off on me now
Horse could throw me off
Horse could die
I could loose this compitition
Sit up tall
Deep seat/Light Seat(Whatever you use)
Keep leg in place
Keep elbows firm
Soften wrists
Shoulders squared
Hips moving with the gait
Etc.

I have a story!
So this is a note..I ride horses who therapy and so do others
So..one day we was just doing therapy casually, Until Chip got spooked..Chip started trotting towards the fence and threw his rider off near the fence..She is okay though..also places here

Its scary because both u and ur horse can get hurt during riding/jumping but you still need each other

Thank you for this. People think we do nothing and it’s not hard but sometimes it can take 2 years to even learn to trot for some people. Plus if you fall of even from the smallest pony, or the tiniest spook you are still in a massive risk of loosing your life. Do you know what it’s like to be rolled on? No. The risk we take to be an equestrian… sigh

as someone who goes to the rodeo regularly, i’ve seen what horses can do. one year this girl did barrel racing and at the last barrel her horse turned too quickly and she flew off the horse.

I lead my pony today on a ride and she got angry at the horse behind and was screaming and bucking and rearing up it isn't easy it is really scary she is strong too.

One time i was with my so called friend(made me cry many times when we were younger) and asked him "How hard do you think riding is our of ten?" Then he had the audacity to say "uhm..i guess 2/10?" I then looked at him in digust and asked "well, have you ever rode a horse?" Then he said "yeah, at a birthday party. It was so easy!" Then i said to him "If the purge ever hits, you're the first person i kill." He looked a bit shook, but he deserves it. He's HOMOPHOBIC! And not because of religion, because he decides to.
