I find a lot of folk get mixed up between our modern meanings of world (this is nothing to do with being different from Mars or Saturn) and "Earth, " (which IS a different planet from Mars) where the biblical understanding of "world" is mostly the age or society we live in, not the planet.
Where the planet is inferred in scripture we normally see the translated word "earth" but sometimes they get mixed up.

this is correctly understood when we say "worldly" which means of this sinful society that is currently prevalent on this Earth.
If we say we are "not of this world but in it" it does not mean we are here on vacation from heaven or are about to go to live in heaven, it means we must live among our fellow worldly folk, trying to reach them, until Christ rules after his second coming, when we will all be again on this earth reigning with Christ, as Rev etc tells us, and the old "world" will be passing away.

Just like the confusion over the use of "Lord, " so this misunderstanding of "world" can lead to so many false ideas.
