I recomend you get a vaccum sealer. You can get one under 50 bucks. It will suck out all the air before sealing it, and will extend shelf life by at least double.

Do you live in rural alaska, a hurricaine zone, or a third world country? Cuz if not, yes this is a waste of time. Modern grocery stores are indeed reliable. They need to turn a profit and keep their employees paid so theyre going to do whatever they can to keep stocking those shelves. The only thing i can kindof agree with is that they get ransacked in major emergencies. But i live in a place where blizzards are FREQUENT and even then, ive never had an issue getting what i needed from a grocery store even the day before a blizzard.
