For sure Lukashenko is not a liberal democrat. But that does not mean he is some kind of monster.
I'd wish that Western media develop a more nuanced approach to different cultures and political systems. This is of paramount importance as the brief interlude of the USA being the sole global superpower is over. Coercing the world to adopt Western standards will not work and might lead to more and more tragedies. I am saying this as a person deeply embedded in the Western culture.
