“The world doesn’t need you busy, the world needs you here!’ Wow!

Kates book actually helped me make my decision to leave my aggressive corporate career and stay home with my kids. It truly is a blessing. Ladies, let’s free ourselves from this hyper aggressive spirit of work. I’m rooting for all of us. ❤️

This moved me 😭 to the core: towards the end, when Kate reads off her book 32:02 wow, what a breakthrough! 💜🙌🏼

I loved the 3 ideas for changing our relationships
1. change the side of my dance (what are you going to do about it?)
2. wrap yourself in your magic bubble ( this is my term, because I've been doing it for a while)
3. limit the time you spend with them (boundaries)
I really needed this, and I'll start applying them today :)
Also, asking for help every day. I put it on the list that I read in the morning, to remind myself that it's a gift for someone else to help me.
Thank you so much, Kate and Marie!!

Love this episode! I think I’ve been on the “do less” train my whole life, but believed that I was “lazy” and felt incredibly guilty! I’ve always gotten shit done, but also always feel like it wasn’t enough. I feel so validated and freed by this idea that less is more and I can stop judging myself. Thank you both! 💛

Do less of what doesn’t matter and know that you’re enough. As a husband, father, and hard charger this video was insightful and truly appreciated. Thank you.

My big take away was remembering to ask "What do you think you're going to do to fix it?" to change the dynamic of relationships so I don't have to be in coach mode with friends & family! Thank you for that healthy reminder!! -Marisa

Thanks Marie! and Kate! The biggest insight I got is to do what you are best at. So when I'm home after work and scrolling through social media instead of spending fun quality time with my family, I will think about that. I will ask myself "Am I good at scrolling through social media or am I good at being a fun, loving wife and mother?" I think this is really going to be a positive tool for me.

Biggest takeaway is Navigating relationships. I have been changing my responses to things causing others to change theirs. Asking for help from others who have their stuff "together" is a compliment. Thanks

This is LIFE. I call this Empowered Feminine Living. Sooo gooood!!! Very moving when Kate read that piece at the end. Bschool helped me start my biz 4 years ago and Kate's book Money a Love Story helped me heal so much around money. Thank you Goddesses. So much love ♡♡♡

This was such a lovely episode, Marie! I recently started watching your videos and this one has been my favorite so far. I always have the feeling that the more I work the more accomplished I am but that’s not reality. The real accomplishment lies in doing things that matter and bring us joy! Thank you, Marie!

The greatest insight was asking for help early. Im still guilty of wanting to do everything on my own and you just cant. its more powerful the more people you have working with you and towards a similar vision. Asking for help and especially asking early is something I need to work on. People love feeling involved, and you improve the quality of the relationship or contact. To make this actionable Im working to see what strenghts I need and what to delegate to others accordingly. This was a great episode Marie! Thank you!! <3

I love this I am no longer a Mom of small children but I bought into always being busy when they were younger that I burnt out. I now have a chance to start again I am fiercely protecting the balance of my life. I can't wait to read this book!!!

One gem I took from this is how to ask for help. Ask early, Ask often and Ask kindly. I love this! Super helpful and I will implement. Thank you!

I was busy typing notes and got so embarrassed when Kate said we use our task list as a brain dump....I was taking notes in Todoist with a couple Overdue items glaring at me! Oh boy!
So many actionable items from this conversation ❤
Know your vital few. What is my 20%? Looking busy, but not moving forward. What makes the biggest difference...what creates the best results? Vital few: Things that you and only you can do and you are the best at. Ask yourself: Does this need to be done? Does this need to be done now? Does this need to be done by me? What part am I playing in allowing this particular dynamic to continue? We are better when we are interconnected.

Today I did enough. So far this week, I’ve done enough. All the things I’ve done over these 46 effing years have been enough! Tomorrow, I’m going to do JUST enough. Because I have enough and enough’s enough!! Thank you so so very very much 🔥❤️💯🦋

I wanted to thank both Marie and Kate for this terrific conversation. I'm the Founding Director of Hidden River Arts, an interdisciplinary arts organization -- and as an aside, have been told by countless "business coaches" that I'm not a "business woman" since I work in the arts, both as an artist and in supporting and acting as midwife for other artists' projects. I think it IS harder for those of us in the arts to be taken seriously, and it is harder for US to want to handle the "business" side of our projects. I often find myself spinning my wheels, feeling paralyzed by seemingly immovable "to do" lists, getting discouraged by feelings of inadequacy, no matter what I manage to accomplish. For the last two years, I've been focusing entirely on my arts organization, having left academia so that I could work full-time with my own projects. But that has meant a 7-day, nearly 'round the clock work schedule which, admittedly, doesn't accomplish anywhere near as much as you would think it should. I really appreciated this interview, and plan to buy both Kate's and Marie's book, since I think they will both offer support and guidance. The one image that I appreciated SO much was that of the hose -- the mist v. the full force flow of water. Most artists I know are naturally ADD-types, with lots of ideas, lots of projects, lots of plates spinning. I think I live in a mist. But I see that I'm going to have to be able to shift that misting to full force more often. (Even as I type this, it feels as though I'm going entirely against my super creative nature!). Anyway -- thank you both. You've certainly offered some preliminary guidance for this Queen of the I expect that your books will offer far more.
