The first time I met my wife, we talked for two hours. She was literally on her way to a special event when we met. I finally made her leave cause she kept reminding me every 20 minutes she had to go but she refused to leave. I knew she was something special cause the next day she stayed late again just to talk with me. No games, no teasing, she just wanted to be with me.

I swear, the biggest lie I’ve ever been told (by society maybe?) is that women are more mature/mature earlier than men. Not saying that men are more mature, but many women my age seem very immature.

That may be one of the most insightful comments I've ever heard from anyone. And it's in very simple, straightforward language. It's also true.
A long time ago, the girl I loved, and who loved me would do just that, if she wanted to get something that was bothering her "off her chest." She would talk and I would listen. Then I would speak, and she would listen. For as long as it took; we would never go to bed angry. No screaming, no hysterics, no ignoring, no pouting, no shaming. It is rare to someone, of any age, with that level of maturity. I did not appreciate, at the time, just how rare this quality is.
We married on July 21st, a beautiful, perfect summer day. It's been over 43 years; even so, I miss her still. We had 3-1/2 wonderful years together before one of life's freak accidents took her from me. Today I am once again reminded of how wonderful she was.

Yea currently in the “I need space” phase went from saying I love you to barely talking maybe once a week I’m just riding it out, I know the writing is on the wall.
