It was not Simon of Cyrene who was crucified or wore the crown of thorns because Mark 15 mentions Simon’s sons who were known to those Mark wrote to and could attest their father carried the cross.

That's fascinating! The Nag Hammadi library is one of the early discoveries of Christian and Gnostic text; and its scripture seems parallel to the Quran. I'm really intrigued to what most Christians and Muslims think about this.
