So Apple has added a third button to take a picture.
Volume up, software button and now the camera button.
Next year maybe the action button will be able to take a photo

The days of yearly upgrades have been over. This is something true for most hobbies and products now. We should be a lot more frugal and modest about our consumption anyways.

I’ve never come across an Apple commercial that suggests you should upgrade your camera or phone every year. People keep blaming Apple in the comments section because they desire the latest and greatest products. It’s also not Apple’s advertising; I see more YouTubers discussing the iPhone than Apple itself. The tech reviewers are the ones who create the fear of missing out.

You’re absolutely right, sensor size makes more of a difference in quality smartphone pics(especially in low light) than the number of mega pixels. Some youtubers get that, but most don’t. I know the laws of physics currently prevent smartphones from getting sensors the size of FF, Crop or even micro 4/3rd mirrorless cameras… but perhaps technologies in the future will. 🤷‍♂️ Until then, most iphone camera updates will be slight improvements over the prior year’s cameras. But still, it is amazing how far smartphone cameras have come!

5:07 Hobbyist knows the tools some time even better than the pro, so I’ll not bet on that, except if you’re the type of people to entertain the cliches!

The camera control obviously has been made to be used in landscape mode not in portrait mode! It’s like complaining about you cannot use your fork to have your soup!

Now is that button useful at all? Only time will tell as it will definitely take people to get used to it worst for those with hardcore muscle memory like you! If it’s still there on the iPhone 17 that would eventually mean more people than you’re thinking now are actually liking this button (which per Apple I shouldn’t be calling a button!)

Nice to see honesty and integrity in a YouTube review rather than non-stop Apple fanboy commentary (as I type this on an Apple Mac Pro surrounded by iPhones and other Apple products). It's incredible to actually pay attention to the quantum amount of work and care in your videos @mrpaulxavier. The overlays, transitions, jump cuts, compare and contrast, motion graphics, VFX, etc., are mind boggling for an individual. These are broadcast quality and in fact, better than most broadcast quality productions. Your pacing is tight and keeps things moving. Truly well done.

I’m also seeing more noise in lowlight for the ultra wide camera on the 16. There also seems to be a vignette on it as well. I don’t see a lot of people talking about this stuff too. I wish I had know before I bought.

6:48 why do YouTubers like to complain about the size of ProRes Log on the iPhone, and often forget to mentioned (which is misleading) they are talking about the native app only? You want to shoot Apple Log in h.265? No problem use the right app for that and stop complaining about the file size!

Have you ever seen Red user complain about the file size or the cost of the camera? Often only those who don’t need it complain about it! Those who need it will not complain or will find an alternative.

My old small Sony camera still takes better pictures than the Iphone 15pro max, the great “Megapixels” upgrade is the biggest fraud there can be!! I need to lower my camera to 3mp to have the same quality as the Iphones 12mp. At 12mp its similar to the 48mp, it’s ridiculous!!

I’m getting my 16pm soon and I was really hoping the microphones were gonna be that Killer Upgrade. :(

And my thinking about the camera control button is that Apple was looking at that eco system of Bluetooth photo grips from anyone from Ulanzi to Freewell to Shiftcam etc and decided “How do we own that?” and then half implemented it.
