How to download S&P 500 (^GSPC) data from yahoo finance. Excel/CSV and R

For description, enable subtitles on the video.

First, acquiring substitute data. E.g., AAPL (1980-today):
Second, change the ticker in the link address to ^GSPC.
(additionally, increase period2 to make the link an API solution from Y.Finance, you can add a minus symbol on period1 to obtain data from 1927 - the full dataframe)

It's really simple. You don't even need that Rstudio software to get the basic spreadsheet of S&P 500.

Very helpful. However I would like to download all the data from 1927. I used PG as substitute and read the file in R, and got data from 1962 until today. I didnt fully understand what you ment by changing time one to negative to get it from 1927. Could you explain deeper or make a video?
