In southern pakistan we make this same thing which we call Lassi with Yougurt Cold water Salt and occasionally adding Mint and cumin but mostly its kept simple just curd water and salt. In the northern areas of pakistan like punjab they do same thing but they use Suger instead of salt but we consume the saltish one .When its hot weather or mostly during lunch meal and then It cools you from inside and feel so sleepy after all.😂

Nice to see this.
I'm from India. Here we called this as Lassi ( we add sugar too), if thinner consistency then called this as 'buttermilk' .
Improvised version in Maharashtra, India is called as 'Piyush', it's our sweet dish.

Interesting. I would definitely try it. In the US I think most of us are used to our yogurt sweet, so this would be interesting to try.

In India we call it chaaz, if add some bundi in it, its call raita and if put sugar its call Lassi. And in Maharashtra we add sugar, cardamom powder with thick yogurt its called shrikhand.

This is actually what we call “instant” ayran. The actual ayran has to ferment.
