Audi’s Q8 lineup has been transformed for the new age with a flock of new fully electric E-tron variants and the Q8 50 E-tron quattro is the cheapest of this expensive new batch.

Starting at circa-$140k this Q8 50 E-tron isn’t cheap but it's loaded with luxury inside and out, with its all-wheel-drive powertrain cushioned by air suspension.

Competing with rivals like the BMW iX, Mercedes Benz EQE SUV and newcomers like the Cadillac Lyriq, the Q8 E-tron needs to be good to conquer the new playing field.

But as recent news puts the future of the Q8 E-tron lineup in doubt, is this a car still worth buying? Journalist Olek Novak investigates.
