Roxon is clearly trying to compete on a whole other level. Finally we are seeing some competition!

ROXON S501U (with Scissors)
ROXON S502U
ROXON S803E
ROXON KS2E (super good at $38)
Victorinox Fieldmaster
Leatherman T4 (now $70, ouch)

What makes the addition of that steal even better is that they are telling us what it is. I appreciate when companies are transparent and was getting tired of companies being secretive about the materials used. I get that occasionally they need to keep proprietary alloys a secret from competition, but most of the time its not necessary. It seemed like it was just to hide that they were cutting corners

A few weeks ago I had zero multitools. I bought the Bibury pro based off your recomendation, and I knew I was in trouble. Today in the post arrived a SOG PowerLitre, a Nextool Mini Sailor, and a Daicamping DL1. The SOG was slightly dissapointing based on the toolset and how fidly it is to access them, but I've been blown away with the quality of the rest. The Bibury is now a permanent resident in my work bag, and I don't see the Nextool leaving my 5th pocket anytime soon. Thanks a lot! I feel like I've got superpowers now haha

s501u scissors with utility blade seems like a good travel item. Remove your utility blade then get another at destination. Scissors are number 2 most important item in a multitool today.

You're like the Project Farm for EDC, and I appreciate the time and energy you put into your videos. Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion. Just bought the KS2E. I like the toolset but I also like how sleek it looks.

Hey, Dom, hope you’re feeling better. I really like what ROXON has been doing and will get some of their products real soon. I was looking at ROXON’s website before this video and saw that they offer free shipping for all sales over $20 and a 25 year warranty on all their products. If their warranty is any good they will be in direct competition with Leatherman. I really look forward to their new modular multitool as well and hope they keep expanding their selection. Thanks for all your work and I hope you get better soon.

Really great info here. That knife with the scissor is really cool especially with the hot swap blades. I have been going through quite the [expensive] journey trying to nail down my edc and how to carry it and this gives me some more options. Keep up the great work and thanks for your hard work and time!

Ordered the ks2 in d2 a couple days ago, waiting patiently for the s501u to come to Canada. Roxon is on fire. Can't wait to see how the Flex lands.

They should put a flathead on top of the saw. I can think of a few things I might want that sharp point for but a flathead would be so much more preferable.

Super excited. Picked up the regular for just $26 for myself and the elite for my father, who is very blue collar and recently lost his swiss army knife. He LOVES the scissors on those so I can't wait to see his reaction to getting this beast!

Got the T4 a few weeks ago. Yes it's pricy but great tool. Smooth, great feel, one hand action for all tools, 25 year warranty. And the pry bar is also their box cutter, works well. Good EDC size. $70 for lifetime quality.

After watching this, I picked up a KS2E to add to my pile. Nice little tool, a bit awkward in the hand due to the pretty harsh angles, could be a little more rounded, but nothing terrible. One issue I found though was the detent on the knife blade. It was so tight I could barely get the knife open one handed. I ended up taking the scales off and filing the thing down slightly (basically simulating wear). Easy enough to do, just three torx screws (one 6 and two 8s) and it was the first thing under the blade. Still, a bit annoying that I had to do it. But, for $38.00, a very good little tool.

5cr15 is roughly in the same ball park as 1.4116, around 0.5%C and 15%Cr, I know 4116 sounds fancier but let's be real, it comes down to heat treats. and highly chances multitool company outsources their heat treatment, I wouldn't be surprise if 5cr from Chinese brands out-performed 4116 from the same brand, after all more common and familiar a steel is to the heat treatment factory, more consistent the quality. Whoever they are, they probably cook tons and tons of 5cr every day and get pretty good at it.

that's just my knife nerd talk.

I got my son the smaller Roxon M2 for Christmas and he loves it! So do I. I haven't picked one up for myself, but I will be buying another Roxon in the future.

Nice video, very informative thank you 👏🇨🇦. Unfortunately up here in Canada you cannot buy any of the new folding knife models that use interchangeable blades (and this has been going on for the last year or more) or other newer models, but to our friends in the south and elsewhere; congratulations 👍. P.S. I have been told that many and I mean many folding knives of all kinds are no longer available on Amazon Canada, so maybe that is the reason as our knife laws are rather like those in Europe now; not as strict but getting there 🤔.

Excellent review, very detailed. I’ve just ordered my Flash Elite, tempted to get that s501 too for the scissors and customisable attachments to switch out. Subscribed ❤
