Similar movie on Netflix you may be thinking of was The Siege of Jadotville. That one was about a group of Irish troops in the Congo in the 1960's.

It's called the battle of Long Tan. But without the New Zealand artillery and two brave Aussie helicopter pilots who broke orders and dropped ammo, we would have been overrun. But they had nowhere to fall back to. I really hope you can see the film.

Vietnam 1966, in the Long Tan rubber plantation, 108 Australian and New Zealand (ANZAC) soldiers were ambushed by a combined battle harden force of North Vietnam Army (NVA) and Viet Cong (VC) soldiers estimated at 2, 500. In three hours, 18 Australians were Killed In Action the oldest was 22, some 250 enemy dead were retrieved from the battlefield. The courage on both sides was unbelievable. D Company 6RAR was awarded the US Presidential Unit Citation, for extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy. The Australian Government of the time disowned them!
